Oh yeah, it will do that for sure, but it's not the kind of historical marker one wants. This isn't and FDR social security social-changer. This is a revolutionary (of the bad kind) changer.
A whole year has been spent on pursing a healthcare bill that the American people do not want!
Do we need healthcare change? Is healthcare reform needed? Has the pharmaceutical industry gone too far? We all know the answers to those questions. But the Obamacare bill IS NOT the answer, and the manner and methods that are being used to PUSH the bill through will thoroughly test the limits of the employed as well as the unemployed.
The question is not how many Democrats will be thrown out of office in November, but how much social unrest and carnage will result in its passing. People need jobs! We have recently witnessed the furore over the deaths of three people in a "sweat lodge" in Arizona during a "Spiritual Warrior" retreat run by self-help guru James Ray who has now been charged with three counts of manslaughter as a result. Allegations from participants in the retreat include that people who were complaining of feeling faint or dizzy or who were clearly feeling the effects of dehydration were forced to stay in the sweat lodge, whilst others claim that a thirty six hour enforced fast also played its part in the tragedy. Whatever truly happened will, no doubt, emerge in time - but the key question has to be asked as to why people would pay up to $9,000 to be subjected to a rite of passage such as this.
The current publicity surrounding this incident masks a deeper unease that the public should have with people who encourage their followers to believe them to be gurus because no one needs a guru, you don't need any representative to act on your behalf on introducing you to your true inner self. You don't need to become dependent on someone else to help your self to emerge. Self help means that, ultimately, you've got to help yourself.
I've been working with people since 1996 and regularly come across the ill-effects of guru dependence. One guy told me that he didn't know how he would survive the next six months because he'd been told to attend the Annual European Sales Conference of his company on the same weekend that he'd booked his "annual pilgrimage" (his words, not mine) to partake of Tony Robbins at London's Excel Centre. "How will I do without my Tony fix?" he asked - and he was serious. And, it is serious - if you're seeking the inner you, you need to detach yourself from the transient things of this world that drag the normal soul down - you certainly don't need to attach yourself to some new addiction.
I've had to assist people in re-directing their minds away from clearly self-destructive (either in a business, personal or relationship sense) courses of action that "came to them" in the pressure-cooker, cult-like environment of one or other self-help guru's retreat. One guy ended up stalking his ex-girlfriend after being encouraged to "follow his heart" (repeatedly chanted at him) in some form of "group therapy" session. He was told that positive thinking would bring her to him (suggesting his thoughts could control someone else - very dangerous). Indeed, if you want to explore the havoc that positive thinking can wreak, take a look at Barbara Ehrenreich's latest book, "Smile or Die: How Positive Thinking Fooled America and the World".

But back to my point - and another client who I had to assist. He had just returned from a $90,000 (yes, you read that right!) two-week retreat to find his wife had left him - she discovered that he had taken out a new mortgage on his home to pay the $90,000. The staff of the guru in question are well known for arranging multiple car loans for those who wish to attend but who don't have the wherewithal to re-mortgage their house. I was informed by my client that he was told that this guru believed himself to be Jesus Christ re-incarnate and that he "recollected giving the Sermon on the Mount" - some saviour though because, having a penchant for large-breasted girls, the front row of his retreats were jokingly known as "Silicon Valley"!!
Why am I giving you these details? I want to make a couple of very important points. Number One: All of us need all the help we can get to find our true passion, discover our inner potential and live life to the full. But only a fool would take a paracetamol for a headache and then become addicted. Number Two: You don't need anyone to come between you and God (however you define God) - all major spiritual traditions intimate that we are an integral part of the divine, quantum physics states that we are an indivisible, quantum entangled part of the underlying entity. Find God by finding your inner self - not by becoming hooked on some guru.
Number Three: Self help means helping yourself. Yes, as I've said, we all need guidance - we all know, in truth, little or nothing about our universe and our place in it. Most of us instinctively feel, however, that there is more to life than meets the eye - and we want that "more". Not only that, it is ours as a natural inheritance. But the journey to discovery (of the self and our purpose) is one we can only make for ourselves. Sure, we need the signposts but each step taken is a step that can only be taken alone.
So, by all means, read your self-help books, watch your self-help DVDs, participate in your self-help seminars - but use them as nothing more than the valuable resources they are to assist you on your journey - for to arrive you need to free yourself from all attachment.

From the early 1870s until the early twentieth century, Chinatown experienced a stage of growth. For as gold dried up on the diggings, those who did not return to China went back to Melbourne's Chinatown which, for those who stayed, represented the only community they had. They found work and established businesses to cater for the local Chinese and non Chinese markets. The 1880s were the days of "Marvellous Melbourne", the time when industry was booming.
The new labour laws combined with the effects of the "White Australia Policy" introduced in 1901 plunged Chinatown into darkness. It was no longer the residential haven for the Chinese, as the population declined alongside business. When the government eased immigration laws in 1947 Chinatown revived itself once more, spreading its population over suburban Melbourne. Chinatown today now predominantly extends along Little Bourke Street between Swanston St and Spring St. Its cabinet makers and lodging houses may now be gone but eating houses and top class restaurants now take their place with the streetscape and its low-rise brick buildings, retaining its historic character.
It remains a busy and important social and economic centre for the Chinese Community and proudly stands as one of Melbourne city's most popular venues. Throughout the year, there are many traditional festivals and activities, making Chinatown a popular destination in the city centre for local, interstate and international visitor.
Always a vibrant area of the city, well known for quality restaurants and all things Asian, Chinatown comes alive with street stalls and entertainment at this time. Meanwhile, Australians of Chinese descent conduct the necessary rituals at home to bring in luck for the coming year. The Chinese were first attracted to Melbourne by the gold rush in nearby Victorian towns, from about 1851 onwards. Ships sailed from Hong Kong and businesses flourished as the new arrivals provided supplies for the miners or went off to join them. The area is now an integral part of the Melbourne scene, contributing to the city's many festivals throughout the year.
The Origin
Chinese New Year is the first day of the lunar calendar, so it is also called the Lunar New Year. And it is also referred to as the Spring Festival since it is the beginning of the Spring term, which is the first term of the 24 terms on the lunar canlendar. It was recorded that Chinese started to celebrate Chinese New Year from about 2000 BC, though the celebrations were held on different times under different emperors. They started to celebrate Chinese New Year on the first day of the lunar calendar based on Emperor Wu Di's almanac of the Han Dynasty.
Legend says the celebrations of Chinese New Year may be related to a beast known as Nian. The beast Nian came out to eat people on new years until an old man found a way to conquer it. Then people started to observe and celebrate Chinese New Year. The word "Nian" now has the same meaning as Chinese New Year, which is used as commonly as Chinese New Year. And people often use the term "Guo Nian", which may originally mean "passed or survived the Nian". Now everyone loves Guo Nian.
It was the discovery of gold in 1851 which attracted Chinese immigration to Victoria on a large scale. Prophet Muhammad' Sense of Humor
In spite of his office of Prophethood, Muhammad was a very gentle and lovely person. With all the severity and seriousness of his function, his company was neither boring nor dull and uninteresting, like that of most ordinary religious leaders, but was full of pleasant and charming humour. He often smiled and joked with his companions and laughed with them.
It is reported by some companions that Muhammad used to mix with them on familiar terms, even to the extent of enjoying light jokes with them.
The companions of the Prophet Muhammad asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you make jokes with us?" He replied, "Yes, I speak nothing but the Truth."
An Arabic man said that he had seen no one more pleasant and smiling than Muhammad.
Another Arabic man says, 'After I accepted Islam, the prophet Muhammad never prohibited me from attending his assemblies. Whenever he saw me he smiled or laughed.?

The following are few examples that show up Muhammad's Sense of Humor

(2) It is narrated that a person requested Prophet Muhammad that he be given a conveyance. Prophet Muhammad replied, 'The baby of a camel shall be given to you.' The person said, 'What shall I do with the baby of a camel O' Messenger of Allah'? (I want one for a conveyance). The prophet then replied smiling, 'Every camel is the baby of a camel.?
(3) A woman came to the prophet grouching about her husband. The prophet asked her, "isn't your husband the one whose eyes are white (which means in Arabic literature 'blind)?'" The woman then feared and said, "No, he is not." Then, she immediately went back to her husband and started looking at his eyes. Her husband felt strange. He asked her, "What wrong with you? Weren't you upset from me just an hour ago?"
She told him what happened with Prophet Muhammad and they realized how he solved the problem between them by re-motivating the love emotions between them in this gentle truthful way.
(4) Also, it is narrated that an old woman came to the Prophet Muhammad and made a request, 'O' Messenger of Allah make pray for me that Allah grants me entrance into Paradise'The prophet replied, 'O' Mother, an old woman cannot enter Paradise'That woman started crying and began to leave. The prophet then said, 'Say to the woman that one will not enter in a state of old age, but Allah will make all the women of Paradise young virgins. Allah says, 'Lo! We have created them a (new) creation and made them virgins, lovers, equal in age'(Quran, verse 35-37).
(5) One of the Hadiths that reflects the Prophet's sense of humor and enjoyment of fun is the tale that Aisha (the youngest Muhammad's wife) said: "I went out with the Prophet on a journey. At that time I was a young girl and was quite slender. The Prophet told the people 'Go on ahead,' so they went ahead, then he said to me, 'Come, let us have a race.' So I raced with him, and I won.
He let the matter rest until I had gained weight. Later, I accompanied him on another journey. He told the people, 'Go on ahead,' so they went ahead. He said to me, 'Come, and let us have a race.' So I raced with him, and he won.
He began to laugh, and said, 'This is for that."'
It is reported by some companions that Muhammad used to mix with them on familiar terms, even to the extent of enjoying light jokes with them.

TOO BUSY, TOO UNAWARE, OR TOO LAZY YOU CAN STILL GET IT DONE
Every one of us has something or things that we want to do in this life. Some of us find ways to 'get what we want' no matter what. Others of us enjoy just some of the many things we'd like to do in life. A few of us are 'blessed' in not having to 'concern themselves' with matters such as these. Sadly, many of us always give the reasons why we can't do or enjoy the things we would like to. The purpose of this article is not inspiration, it is information. This article will inform how to accomplish things that we felt we were too busy, too uninformed, too unwilling, or too 'broke' to pursue.
The 'too' busy, uninformed, and unwilling fall into a similar category. This is an attitude situation. The Good News is this. In Today's economy, there are literally hundreds, if not thousands are person willing to assist you (for a fee, of course). If you think it would take too much of your time, you're wrong. Today really is just a matter of typing your concerns and location(s) into an Internet search engine. In fact, you can even hire someone to carry out the entire 'search and find' experience. Of course the next logical question is, 'How do I know these individuals are reliable''
The answer to the above question is this: Whoever is responsible for overseeing the contacting, interviewing, and hiring of such 'help' must be capable, effective, and reputable. This is the only thing you will have to do that may take a little time. Once this person is located (even if that person is you), you can get back to whatever it was that you are 'too busy' with. You can then just follow up with this 'manager' to ensure all is well. If an Internet search engine does not suffice, you can always use phone books, directories, newspapers, and/or 'word of mouth'. The focus point is 'why leave things undone, when others are so wiling to assist'. That way you are actually improving areas in your life and the assistant's life as well.
The person who is financially 'broke' is a more complex issue. This issue can still be addressed and dealt with. A key point in situations such as this is 'ethics'. There may be those who are capable of assisting a financially challenged person based on 'credit' or 'reduced rates'. Unfortunately, may persons refuse to follow through with previous promises. So the essential thing a 'financially challenged' person must do is live up to any agreements made. Sob stories just don't 'pay the bills'. Here's a 'perfect' example. Jim wants to 'start' a basic business, but Jim doesn't have the necessary finances. Brian sells products online and at public locations. Jim wants Brian to help Jim out. Of course nothing is free in life. Jim bases his petition on 'friendship'. Brian realizes that 'friendships' are often destroyed on such terms. Brian tells Jim that he can give Jim a financial 'break' for his services, but Jim must pay before hand. Jim must also pay a percentage of things directly related to Brian. If Jim 'screws up', then not only will the business deal be over, but probably the friendship as well.
Of course life is never this simple. The point of this article is 'things can get done'. A major aspect of accomplishment is connecting with capable people who are more than eager to 'getting the job done'.

Weightloss
Want to lose weight? Looking for weightloss? Looking for some cheap tools to help you with your weightloss goals?. Then get some sleep!
We are all busy these days, and our "to do" lists just keep getting longer. Between careers, kids, practice, house, partners and more... it is no wonder we don't fall asleep right away, or worse yet, go to bed so late, we are asleep before our head hits the pillow.
That morning alarm seems to be going off sooner and sooner, and then we are grabbing strong cups of coffee to get through our day. But if you are trying to lose weight, this can be a deadly combination.
Studies have shown, that when our bodies don't get the sleep they need, especially the deep restorative sleep, then our bodies will sabotage our diets, and create cravings for carbs, especially the simple carbs, such as sugar and white flour products such as donuts, as well a coffee with all the fixings to find alternate sources of energy to help wake up!
We then gain weight, and it becomes a cycle. When trying to achieve healthy weightloss, food and exercise are not the only part of your life you need to change. If you don't get enough sleep then you body does not get the chance to repair itself overnight, and it won't matter how many salads you eat, you are just not going to feel good, and you will feel constantly hungry as your body craves energy to stay alert.
< If you don't think you can suddenly change your bedtime, then why not do it gradually? Try turning in about 15 minutes earlier a week, and see if you fall asleep. If you don't, then you need to try and practice some relaxation before bed. Turn off the TV, make sure you do not do work in your bedroom, and don't watch TV in bed. Try a warm bath, or put lavender on your pillow, or even yoga.
But try something to get relaxed, then add another 15 minutes the next week of bedtime. You will notice a difference in how you feel with even just an extra 1/2 hour. But try and aim for 7 - 8 hours of sleep a night, and try to keep a similar schedule on the weekend, or Sunday night will be a hard night to get to sleep early.
Once you are getting the extra sleep you need, then you will find it is much easier to stay on track with your weightloss goals. If you also incorporate exercise into your day, this will help you fall asleep quicker at night. So, try going for a walk after dinner, and get some fresh air.. your body will be happier!
